Call me better your enemy rather than your friend

They are people who will tell you what you want to hear.

And there are people who will tell you the truth.

The first group, probably you call them friends, and the second one, could be a very good adept for your hated enemy.

However, and how unpleasant could seem to you hear the truth of one person, give it a go, it's still a valuable different point of view.

You cannot be always right, because you simply can't, life is smarter than you.

The thing is to keep honest to what sounds really right to you, not what others think you should or should not do, think or say.

We are becoming a society of thousands of likes because we deeply need someone likes our creations, leisures, travels, activities, etc. That's why Facebook is so successful and addictive. You can get easily more and more of these Facebook friends.

And then you have the enemies, those who could save your dreams, the real ones and help you believe in the real change. These "special" friends will likely push you go further through new territories and understand new philosophies.

They would be frank about the nonsense of your point of view and mistaken attitudes.

They wouldn't tell you how amazing you are, if you are not.

The enemy is good to show you what you don't like about yourself, honestly because hurting feelings sometimes is simply necessary.

Sometimes your friend could be hidden in your worst enemy.

How I saved my beliefs with the motivational sushi

I used to be fan of the Facebook pages with motivational quotes and beautiful inspiring pictures.

But I realised that those things don't help.

Even worse, they actually encouraged me to be greedy.

It took me several months to understand what was going on.

I was distracted by so many things that I couldn't concentrate on me, my shy inner voice demanding more of my attention while I was busy doing honestly nothing.

Nobody wants to feel desperate and neither do I, so I took it the easy way. I let entertain myself and preferred to believe that things will figure out by themselves after reading an inspirational quote.

And they obviously didn't.

My mum says that "None leaf on the tree moves without the blow of the wind" and as all the mums, she was right.

I could have saved hours but instead, I passively scrolled down for the Facebook update or bought another motivational book.

I used to read the great philosophers' ideas and simply do nothing!

It’s understandable that I didn't experience any life changing effect on me.

I wanted more and more of that fast food for my mind. Only that. No exercise.

Something even worse happened: I stopped believing in the motivation.

My greed for more and more information temporarily destroyed my beliefs and my point of view.

So how I saved my beliefs?

I took the extreme diet and reduced the Facebook and all the motivational books to 0 calories.

For me, it was like a drug but I understood that what I needed was just a timeout.

I discovered that’s enough with a tiny snack of this healthy boost for my mind otherwise it was too time consuming.

Your life can be counted in years, so from now on, the time for me, has become the life.

Today morning on the tube I heard one mum describing the life of her daughter; she said one extremely contrasting thing:

“My daughter she doesn't enjoy what she is doing but she keeps herself busy”.

I wouldn't like my mum makes the same statement about me, so I will try to do something different than keeping myself busy.

Sometimes we all need to be encouraged to do things we want to but not dare to.

That’s why we do need the motivation.

But not too much motivation.

Like in the Japanese style for eating.

Designed to live better, longer and younger.

The motivational sushi!

The perfect mix of the following elements:

  • the raw taste of the encouragement – dancing fish
  • wrapped into the black sheet of your sparkling dreams – shining nori
  • and a generous amount of rice full of everyday steps – rice growing grains

I love sushi and hope my example above will help you understand how I decided to motivate myself my own way.

So what's the motivational sushi for today after my greedy lesson?

Less is more.

Less is more when eating,
less is more when shopping,
less is more when talking …

With the right amount, you will take a better care of yourself, others and the environment.

Keep motivated with the right dose – motivational sushi to be able to take an action every day and do what you’d love to do.

Become an Urban Little Farmer not to save the world, but for your sake.

ecological apartment indoor garden, organic indoor growing

Life in the city 'sometimes' sucks.

Even there are parks and green areas, the only permitted thing is to watch and walk around. Maybe a dog could be pretty happy with that but what about you?

Usually, nothing special happens only with watching, actually the magic needs an action.

So I've decided to start my own 'urban farming', plant some seeds and see what's going on. Hopefully, my little experiments of the apartment food growing, will bring me organic fresh produce or at least more of the oxygen into my home.

Organic food growing is a really serious matter.  Have you considered that eating everyday genetically modified and pesticide poisoned food from the supermarkets, will one day bring a catastrophic effect on your life quality?

There is no point to fight against the big companies. Those who buy them the food, are we people.

Every little decision you take, can make a huge difference. Because we all are the same chain.

Growing your own ecological food can be fun and you can learn a lot of new things about how to grow plants, indoor herbs, vegetables and fruits; besides you will become aware of the huge job hidden behind a basket of healthy, organic and fresh food.

The real organic food tastes differently, it makes you stronger and independent from the queuing in the fast food shops.

Many culinary professionals and food lovers fancy growing their own herbs and spices for the very fresh gourmet taste. The secret of the homemade food is in the ingredients, time and love. Nowadays, with the lack of time for anything, cooking has become a luxury leisure activity.

In the end, we are what we eat.

At some stage of your life, you will understand that food is what keeps you alive.

Growing organic food can be a relaxing therapy, too.

The process is simple yet very enjoyable.

Plant a seed, water and take care of it, and wait for the harvest.

In between, patience, music, water and sunlight.

I know most of the times, unfortunately, your harvest is not going to cover even your needs, but to be honest, it's so charming to have plants and herbs around that only with that one can feel better for a moment.

This is my little home grown chilli pepper from the seed. I didn't obtain stunning results but I proudly harvested from one seed at least 20 new seeds to plant the next spring. My food growing is consistently becoming more realistic.

It's not about how it starts but how it continues

Ecological home garden is similar to having a pet. I named my pepper as Santiago.

Benefits of growing your own herbs and vegetables - home food

We actually don't need to put labels on such as ecological food, organic vegetables, bio fruits… it's as simple as to call it "home food". We know that home food is good.

The best plants, herbs and vegetables to start with

Don't complicate it too much at the beginning. You can perfectly start your growing experiments with herbs, chilli peppers, avocado or indoor plants.

Pots, containers, watering and light - take care of your alive part of the home

This is your opportunity to start to recycle all the containers left to throw away from the massive food industry. Packagings, plastic bottles, yogurt pots, ice cream boxes, etc. Get some ideas about how to reuse plastic recipients here.

Plants and herbs as a cool decor

There is no doubt if I say that plants rock the design. They look gorgeous, they create your oxygen and increase the vibes in your home.

Please do not grow anything if any of these apply to you:

  • If you want to keep perfect your freshly done nails, then this won't be a distressing activity for you.
  • If you have a really bad memory and cannot remember to water the plants every 2-5 days. If you can't feed them, then better don't have them.
  • If you have cats and other playful pets, be careful what you grow and check the stability of the pots.

And there is one more thing left to say, enjoy your eco home gardening and contribute with your seed to protect and improve your life quality!

How I felt into the trap of the motivational books

I did everything they say helps.

I left my good job.

I moved to a different city in a different country.

I gave the chance to new life experiences.

I even became a vegetarian

Impossible.

This is exactly what comes to my mind when I think about my mission to succeed.

The more I try, the more I fail.

My conclusion?

This kind of books will tell you what you secretly want to hear.

You can do it.”

That's one of the reasons why the eastern philosophies are now so popular bestsellers in the western world.

There is only one condition, one little pressure included in that price; you can do it but only “today

I might not agree and let me explain you why.

You can buy a loaf of bread today yet you cannot climb Himalayas mountains today, who can?

Bigger goals require more time.

You will need yesterday when everything had started, then you will continue hiking through today and tomorrow or the day after tomorrow you will finally get to one inhabited village of Himalayas. Obviously, your climbing hasn't finished here ...

Reading deeper, I found many contrasting things like these, so I started to doubt about the motivational books.

After this consideration, I needed to change my point of view. Again.

I left another kind of life sucking job.

I resumed my life into a backpack and travelled.

I decided to have time instead of money.

Time is good but not when you have to think about your life.

Feeling like a nomad searching for food and water, I was visiting each city with the hope to find something mystic.

I tried to observe, listen and be open.

Nothing special happened, though.

I felt quite disappointed.

I did something and expected a reward.

That was the wrong lesson from the wrong book.

I made another decision and moved.

I went back.

Yes, I gave a second chance to an ex.

And what lesson have I learnt?

You can break up with people and things yet you can never split up with yourself.

You don't need time to think, you need time to do the things.

Today is not the only day you can do something.

Give yourself more chances and opportunities.

Whether it is in the city or in the wild, the story is always about you.

You can't run away forever.

Remember that your origins have a lot to say about you.

Get the most from the school of life:

  • Learn how to heal your wounds and move on.
  • Learn to share your life with those who are worth it.
  • Learn that home is not a fixed place, it's a constant journey.

Sometimes what is possible for others, might be impossible for you.

I realised that life challenges actually shape people into the incredible beings

Maybe you still didn't get what you wanted.

It doesn't matter, the side effect of human beings is that we always want something and never can conform with anything.

By the time, enjoy the journey in between which is what actually matters because we spend 90% of our time on the journey and 10% in the destination.

So just slow down because once you have reached your destination or goal, I am pretty sure that you will be shortly preparing a new adventure.

I think there is arising a new evolved urban generation, I dare to call it the "nomad in the city".

It's somehow becoming a new way of living in harmony with the urban background while keeping alive the free wild side of your human nature.

Possible or not, I say give yourself plenty of new chances and stay connected with your origins. This urban zen philosophy worked for me better than dozens of motivational books. Basically it's about to get the most from the school of life while doing a lot of practice.

P.S.: If you can't change it, then nomad it.

180° Brand New Runaway

You run

desperate

counting miles

on the cloud factory

fifty seconds

and you stop

180°

your new destination:

the smoothie shower.

These dangerous habits

so adorable

as much as crossing boundaries

might sacrifice you one day.

Not today.

The wandering of homeless dreams

has not finished yet.

You can still keep

the pace with dragons

but feel like a stranger

a rebel in nowhere

with an avocado faith

in the placebo effect

of your runaway.

The time has come, little Nomad

you have to run.

Again.
